Steve Dalachinsky (vocals & poetry)
Born in Brooklyn, New York City, Steve Dalachinsky is a legendary poet of the downtown New-York scene, extremely active on the scene of free jazz and creative music.
His works get regular publications, notably in Anglo-Saxon magazines (Long Shot Magazine, Blue Beat Jacket, Downtown Poets, Beat Indeed, Writers Outside the Margin, The Outlaw Bible of American Poetry, et A Gathering of the Tribes), and was translated in French, German and Japanese.
He has worked with musicians such as : Assif Tsahar, William Parker, Cooper-Moore, Susie Ibarra, Matthew Shipp, Roy Campbell, Daniel Carter, Sabir Mateen, Mat Maneri, Federico Ughi, Rob Brown, Tim Barnes, Thurston Moore and Jim O’Rourke.
His public readings are numerous and acclaimed : The Vision Festival, Knitting Factory, Tonic, The Cooler, Short Wave - Soft Skull Bookstore, Barnes and Nobles Astor Place, Tribes Gallery, The Pink Pony, Cornelia Street Cafe, Brecht Forum, The Jump Festival, St Marks Poetry Project, Beth Sholom Synagogue, New York University, The Small Press Center, The Mid-Manhattan Library, Here, ABC No Rio, etc.
Sébastien Capazza (tenor saxophone )
Born in Bordeaux in 1973. Sébastien Capazza studies saxophone in particular lessons and while listening to the classics (Parker, Coltrane, etc.). His encounter with Didier Lasserre is at first a collaboration which takes shape with Tensions as soon as 1994, then the Monologue Trio, and is pursued today as a quartet.
He regularly collaborates with Roland Bourbon and Compagnie Fracas since 2001, for a work on sensitisation to music in day time occupational centres, for hospital Charles Perrens, rest-homes, social centres, high-school and secondary schools. With the compagnie, he has been part of Orlando furioso since 2001. For a year now, he has been playing electric guitar with Jimbo S. (w/Patrice Clairfeuille, Laurent Mateo & Olivier Lafont). Among his current projects : Machine Gun (with Mathias Pontévia, Ludovik Thomas and Julien Perugini). Sébastien Capazza has played in trio at Bordeaux Jazz Festival 2004 with Félix Baray (doublebass) and Didier Lasserre (drums). DISCOGRAPHY : Pulsations (w/D. Lasserre), Monologue Trio (w/P. Didier Lasserre (drums)
Born in Bordeaux in 1971. Starts with the instrument at 16 to try and live "something else". After learning the rudiments at the local music school, essentially works as a self-taught to find his own voice. Teaches the drums and direct improvisation workshops and master-classes. Works with painting, poetry, dance, super8, sculpture, photography. Co-founds in 2003 label Amor fati with Mathieu Immer. Concerts in France, Europe, Moscou, Buenos Aires etc...
