Bionik

Born in Martinique, Steve - aka Bionik - arrives as a child on the french continent, already addict to the frenetic atmosphere of sound systems.
From 1994 on, he does his first performances on stage with Sergent Garcia and starts touring all around France...

In 2003, Bionik and Sergent Garcia compose the title « Stop da War », symbolic message against the war in Irak. They play it at Le Zénith for a huge concert with collective "Ensemble contre la guerre", next to Tryo, Matmatah, Miossec, Le Peuple de l'Herbe, etc.
Weekly newspaper l'Humanité freely distributes 77.000 copies of the single following the concert they perform for the Fête de l'Humanité (french communist party annual event).

The same year, starts the composition and recording of the first tracks for the coming Bionik album at studios Arrows, in Kingston (Jamaica), with Marc Damblé and Sheldon Bernard (Buju Banton, LMS, Pablo Moses, etc)

In parallel, Bionik writes and composes "Longtime", first single the new album by Sergent Garcia, the Semilla Escondida (Labels/EMI), recorded between Cuba and Jamaica with Marc Damble and Tyron Donnie (the album was nominated at the 2004 Victoires de la Musique, equivalent of UK Brit Awards or US Grammy Awards).
The tracks enters radio playlists (Europe2, Skyrock, the Mouv', Ouï FM, etc) and the video clip is broadcast on M6, TraceTV, MCM.

Seeing the success of Long Time, the record company « Labels » asks Bionik to record with Sergent Garcia the second single of the album. The song "Revolucion 2004" then spreads throughout european radio and TV channels...

After 6 years' work, tracks on many compilations (Crazy Ragga 3, Pressure, Fait tourner...) and numerous demo recordings, Bionik arrives today with his first solo album : « Balata »

Result of a certain maturity, the album is built around experimented musicians with diverse influences, thus underlining the multi-cultural and open minded aspects of Bionik's music.

Among others you'll find on the album featurings by Sergent Garcia, CKLM (Leïdo), Yaité RAMOS, Lofofora ...
