Carine Bonnefoy

pianist, composer, arranger Born in 1974 in Toulon (France). Began her studies in 1982 with, among other instruments, piano an saxophone. In 1990 she won 1st prize for interpretation & orchestration, special press and jury award Jazz Futur 83 competition in Aix-En-Provence. In 1992 she moved to Paris and joined the Paris Jazz Big Band, and played with names as Ted Hawke, Essiet O. Essiet, Didier Lockwood, Henri Texier, Kenny Wheeler, Bob Mintzer and many others. In 98, graduate of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris with the 1st prize and the diploma of superior formation, she teaches Arrangement/Composition and jazz piano in conservatories. In demand for her talents of composition and arrangement, shes a important figure of the french jazz scene today. She wrote original music for the Swinging Europe Orchestra & for the Métropole symphonic orchestra directed by Vince Mendoza (musical création -Overlands 2004 - at the maison de Radio-France) . In 2006, she orchestrated and conducted the original music of the composer Ludovic Bource for OSS 117 movie (Gaumont/Universal).. April 2006: arranged for Ivan Lins and the metropole orchestra. 2007: DJANGO D'OR of the création for the album Outre-terres November 2007: the WDR big-band commissionned 100 mn original music from Carine, she conducted the band for the radio.
