Christophe Marquet : Drummer - Composer
Born in 1965, he studies with Jacques BONNARDEL, Michel SARDABY, AGOSTINI School, Keith COPELAND.
In 1993, he founds his own trio and is awarded, in 1995, the First Prize for Orchestra at Concours de la Défense, and the First Composition Prize. Then he wins the « DJANGO D’OR » (French up-coming talent) and is granted « TALENTS JAZZ 1998 » (Adami).
He has namely played with Barney WILEN, Alain JEAN-MARIE, Bud SHANK, René URTREGER, Turk MAURO, Buddy DE FRANCO, Ted CURSON, Louis SMITH, Wild « Bill » DAVIS Jr, Stephane GRAPPELLI, Enrico RAVA, Paolo FRESU, Glenn FERRIS, Marc DUCRET, Gian Luigi TROVESI, Louis SCLAVIS, Claude BARTHÉLÉMY, Yves ROBERT, Christof LAUER, Ricardo Del FRA, Mat MANERI, Herb ROBERTSON, Barry GUY, Kenny WHEELER, François COUTURIER, Larry SCHNEIDER, Joëlle LEANDRE, Anouar BRAHEM, Evan PARKER, John GREAVES, Roswell RUDD, John TCHICAI, NDR Big band (hambourg)…

Today, he performs with his Quartet « Résistance Poétique » (Sébastien TEXIER, Bruno ANGELINI and Mauro GARGANO) with whom he's awarded « Choc de l’année 2008 » by Jazzman for Cd « Itrane » and is duo with comedian Frederic PIERROT on a reading of book l’Intranquillité by Fernando Pessoa.; He regularly collaborates with Henri TEXIER, Eric WATSON, Yves ROUSSEAU, Joachim KÜHN, Claude TCHAMITCHIAN, Hélène LABARRIÈRE and Jean-Marc FOLTZ.
