Fatale : is 3 characters, 1 boy and two girls : Garance Turbeville, grand daughter of famous New York photographer, Marcus Model, « hidden » brother of upcoming German stylist and Lois Lis Iron, daughter of Miami insomniac collagist mother. The 3 make an explosive fusion of frozen dancefloor and electropunk rage. When they unleash the power and mix their influences (Le Tigre, Bis, Depeche Mode, Adult, Fad Gadget, Madonna, Patrick C), we face something totally new musically : BPMI = Brutal Power Maximum Impact : a mixture of rage / dance steps / make-up / a look close to performance. The two girls met in 2002 in Portland at a Peaches gig opening for John Waters.
Garance has got the sex appeal, Lois the anarchistic energy. Only a boy was missing \ Marcus joined the band in 2003. They'd noticed him at a bubble-gum in Toronto : he was dancing to some Melt Banana with cow-boy boots : how could they resist ! Summer 2003 : a couple of rehearsals and the band is ready to play for a surprise party in a vast garden. They turned up dressed in plastic Technicolor-style outfits they'd made in the afternoon. The sound just kicked ass. Everything was dark. The sewing was not perfect, everybody got drunk ! So they chose the name Fatale, for with them, it was impossible to see a party end ! ! Generally you're in for a black-out with bruises and scratches in the morning... Fatale, then...
December 2004 : they're back to France for a special gig at the Transmusicales : same nuts atmosphere! They would hit harder and go wilder : it was perfect ! between gigs and clubbing evenings, Fatale gathers clothes labels, small china cats, fur coats, e-bay high heels, lipsticks... While in Paris, they attend JD Lepage shooting and take part in the graphic cut up. In Miami, they're invited to the « Feminine Activism » gala with AGF2 and Tojihiro Kato to produce a collage performance = fun. In San Francisco, Matthew B calls them for a « démontage trash » soirée in ancient hair dressing salons. Their very first maxi « Marcus secret » comes out this autumn (2005) and features a (minimalist) remix by Jennifer Gardini and another more break-beat remix by ? ? ?. the track mixes all their influences, sharp and heady rhythmic, soft raging vocals, a very 80's chorus and gives out a maximum of BPMI. Their album is due for early 2006.
