KAMI (Kermes, Art, Magic and I) were born in Hyères, on the Côte d'Azur. After the meeting of Hervé (vocals/guitar/mpc) and Martin (guitar/keyboard), soon joined by Maxime (drums/keyboard), the group bonded through a common passion for 90's Indie Pop, finding themselves far from a postcard on which the burning sun would mix with young girls in bloom, their teenage landscape looks more like a November deserted beach blown away by the Mistral.
Whereas the English dream of the "French Riviera", the members of Kami nourished themselves with sounds from across the Channel.
After a tour around France of more than 5 months in the winter of 2010/2011, the three boys escaped to their salvation in Berlin's Neukölln district. Taking three months away from the daily grind, they turned a flat into their music lab and pieced together the songs for their next album.
They came back with a bag full of them, inhabited by the dreamy vocals of Hervé and supported by heady guitar riffs and a counterbalance of ambient keyboard and intoxicating rhythms.
It was in January at the Studio Vega at Carpentras and under the calm of provincial country skies that Bertrand Montandon succeeded in getting the group to put down their new tracks.
While we wait for the arrival of the new album, KAMI release their « Another Shore ep » at the beginning of May. The 8 track EP is a veritable warm up for their return in which they include alternative spins and remixes held together by « Let’s Get Insane », and the pop « Cherry Stone ». These two tasty morsels have been illustrated by the group themselves with two videos shot between Berlin and Dublin.
