Olivia Pedroli (aka Lole) was born in 1982 in Neuchâtel, Switzerland. At 5 she shows signs of her interest for playing an instrument. She studies the violin at conservatory for 13 years until she earns her certificate. Shares her passion for music with her brother, himself a professional Jazz musician.
In 2000, she leaves for New Zeeland to study her favourite lauguage English for a year. Buys a 100 NZ$ (10 €) guitar and learns to play and sing songs by Ben Harper, Toris Amos, Fiona Apple ...
Ushe then travels to Asia, Australia and Canada.
Simon Gerber, talented Swiss musician and singer, offers to help her for her 1st album "The smell of wait" released Apr 2005 in Switzerland. The auto produced record sells 3500 copies and was qualified as "little jewel" the pros while the press critics praised it. Two tracks also entered the playlists of the biggest Swiss radios.
Surrounded on stage by the finest musicians of the Swiss scene, the 25 year-old writer-composer-singer embraces with her sublime voice jazz, folk and pop with ease of American protest song icons.
Her concerts are always striking with softness and sensuality mixed with more electric sounds. This live quality has already allowed her to meet the public of the biggest Swiss festivals like the Paléo Festival de Nyon where she was named « the best discovery of the 30th Paléo». Lole now fills all venues from Geneva to Zurich.
Her second album was recorded between Carpentras (Vega Studio), Lausanne and New York. For this one, she remained faithful to Simon Gerber for the production and to her musicians as well (Raphaël Pedroli and Julien Revilloud). Lausanne pianist Daniel Perrin and a string quartet also reinforce the team, offering a new dimension to Lole's compositions and maybe a big turn in her young career.
