Formed in 2003 around Stef a.k.a FLIK FLAK naturally finding his place on production via the creation of de cartoonesque, kitsch and sometimes very rock beats and melodies (his method being a mere alchemy of all his musical influences (US Rap, Ska, Metal...) and around « Life Style » (video games, cartoons...), a multi-instrumentalist (guitar, bass, drums, keyboard...) who excels in making the masses jump around. If Maniacx didn't exist Flik Flak's music would be predestined for a rock band including Bob Sponge, Dr. Globulus & Bart Simpson.
Ben a.k.a NAWAK, singer and writer of determined and crazy lyrics, praises the bright side of life with its touch of madness and tell stories and true facts always linked to a concrete and delirious logic. Nawak has created a universe around Maniacx peopled with strange characters like Crest & Cranky and the famous « Funny Guys » ; three good-intentioned little fellows that never work things out the way they would like ! The power and quality of Nawak's flow is not to be ashamed by a comparison with his US cousins. A born freestyler, he's always there when it comes to improvising on stage.
Fred a.k.a DUFF the « head chef » of the band brings his electro recipes with turntables, Game Boy sounds and spiced up scratches of which only himself knows the real ingredients. Duff's spectacular ambiances bring a festive colour and always cause a split personality fit to let appear on stage a certain Mr. STARLIGHT whose sparkling disco ball head can be seen above most dance floors of the planet.
PACA Printemps de Bourges and Fnac discovery in 2005, Maniacx release their 1st critically acclaimed eponym album and have become on the French scene a key hip hop electro rock band in the process with more than 150 concerts and festivals like Garorock, Summer Fest, Printemps de Bourges, Electro Clique ... and also opening acts for bands like Svinkels, Puppetmastaz, (hed) p.e, Lofofora, Parabellum, Birdy Nam Nam, Dagoba, Wampas, Kaly Live Dub... In 2007 they created with Puppetmastaz the CENTER OF THE EARTH show ; a fantastic tale mixing music, theatre and video.
2008 Maniacx release their new album CRAZY SOUNDS WITH THE ALIENS, produced by Bill Cox at Studio Cox In Hell.
This new opus offers 14 tracks with Crunk, Rock and Electro accents with this particular festive spirit based on brass parts and 8-bit sounds made in Maniacx.
