Komori's youth took root in the southern suburbs of Paris, eventually moving to the inner city for a change of soil. In 1998, while studying at graphic arts school 'EPSA', he began djing at school parties at L'Arapaho, mixing drum 'n' b a s s, electro & indie rock... In 1999 he made his live debut on stage at the Batofar, tweaking synths, samplers & drum-machines alongside jazz bassist Chlorine Free.
His live set has continuously evolved to dynamically blend graphic illustration ,
video and computer animation in direct interaction with the musical compositions.
Inspired by the likes of Sonic Youth, Rephlex records, Lou Barlow, Rza, Wagonchrist... Komori's music takes us on a walk through a vibrant forest of sound, crawling with hallucinogenic mutations and sinuous plantlife.
The same fertile woods progressively grew beyond their original boundaries
and proceeded to slither into various Parisian clubs and venues such as Nouveau
Casino, L a Scéne, Mains d'Oeuvres, EOF, Le Point Ephémère, and festivals : Sous La Plage, Le Rock Dans Tous Ses Etats, Pi Days, among others...
These adventurous strolls through uncharted audio forestry led to numerous
live & studio collaborations: from hip-hop projects with mc Kovo to the dreamy
vocal electro-pop of 'Deli Tesco', many remixes and tracks featured on compilations such as Rubin Steiner's "Travaux Publics" series...
In 2003 he joined budding independent Parisian label "Rolax", alongside graphic designer Mathias Schweizer and dj Seep, taking part in va rious performances in galleries, clubs and festivals in France, Belgium, Switzerland... and, more recently, a trip to Miami sparked up nocturnal jams with the likes of Dino Felipe, Phoenicia, Finesse and Runaway & "000" from Schematic Records... suburban jungle meets tropical rainforest...
Defined simply as "an open-minded collective focusing on artistic direction and
spontaneous expression", Rolax proudly released the split-12-inch
" Komori / t oyzRme" in 2004, introducing us to a playful palette of experimental
noise and ludic electro-pop jams. Pushing further into acid/pop/psychénoise territory, Komori delivered two freeform remixes for another Rolax release "Tuning - Audiorama", in 2005.
2005 also witnessed the birth of his first full-length release (cd:"Ramen Girl " ) on Parisian label Modulo. This collection of productions spanning 2001-2004 brings together dancefloor electro and glitchy cinematic hip-hop, occassionally veering unpredictably towards prototype breakbeat frenetics...
These days, he can be heard regularly bumping acid/grime/bootybass live sets on stage with label mate Seep, and a mini-album entitled "Convul cK" is currently lined-up for release at the end of 2006 on Rolax.
