Minzkov comes from Antwerp, Belgium. For once, we really can compare with dEUS as much as the voice of Philip Bosschaerts reminds us Tom Barman...But that is all we can compare with, because even if the band keep the typically Belgian touch, Mintzkov knows how to go far from arpeggios and dissonances used by their compatriots.
In fact, Mintzkov is terribly, addictively, dangerously...binary! A capacity to make simple things apparently while creating each track with richness and complexity, so a quirky approach which makes us under the spell of all Belgian bands. A secretly ingredient maybe hide in the situation of this little country split in two parts and influenced by its imposing neighbors...
Previously named Mintzkov Luna, the band released their first album in 2003, very welcomed by the audience and the medias. Entitled "M for Means and L for Love", this album brought the five pieces band to the biggest venues and prestigious Festivals in Belgian and The Netherlands, defining a classy and strong power pop.
The band comes back in 2007 with a new album, release this year in France after having won Belgium (more than 3 months in charts), but also German, where Mintzkov toured in 2008 with the Frenchmen of Rhésus, however not one-armed people in live, they became Mintzkov first fans after having shared the tour with this real on-stage war machine, as we will see soon in the French venues. Anyway, this album is a success, at first artistic.
