MONTREAL ON FIRE was born in 2006 in the University of Quebec in Montreal (Canada). Two young scientists met at night to create a music filled with diverse sounds and minimalist soundscapes. Completed with two members by the end of 2007, the band composed and recorded their first album "Decline & Fall" in the house which they occupied in the country-side of Toulouse. The Musicians go forth into the punk/hardcore scene, but by playing together, they create a more fragile and melancholy music. Their first opus, somewhere in between noise- pop and shoegaze was released in March 2009 on LACRYMAL RECORDS label. The band leaves for the european roads to promote their album, from the legendary Germans squat venues to the prestigious stage of The BIKINI in April 2010, sharing the bill with bands such as THEE SILVER Mt ZION, MONO, POCAHAUNTED, DATURAH or SUN ARAW.. In the meantime, two EPs see the light, unveiling the first Quebecois demos and a compilation of an Electro Remix of "Decline & Fall" , reflecting the eclectic personalities of the four members.
