O Linea is created in 2001 in St-Jean-sur-Richelieu. The band spend 3 years composing and progressively forge their identity. Their typical sound is rooted in 90s alternative rock but diverges and evolves in accordance with the most varied musical tastes of the band members.
In Feb. 2004, the band record in studio a first complete album titled Straight Line Strategy. Produced by Frank Joly (Subb, Vulgaires Machins, eXterio), this album is both rich and complex, at times breathtakingly simple. The rock sounds and catchy melodies that characterise the band are now well established. After more than 50 concerts given throughout Quebec, the band take a U-turn in 2005 and decide to write in French. They hire long-time friend (and guitarist in band Kodiak) Félix-Antoine Couturier. The mark the alliance, the band also bond with Slam Disques in 2006. The retire for a year or so to write and record. In Feb. 2007, they finally enter the studio with Frank Joly. The engineering will be done by Maxime Surprenant and O Linea. In June 2007, the album is completed and titled «L’ordre des choses». The accomplishment of two years' hard work is finally released on 10 July 2007 : a first explosive album with 13 indie-rock songs critically acclaimed, a versatile voice, guitars with real personality and an experienced band that perform mind-blowing shows. The formation successfully managed to reach the complex alloy of power and melancholy. The band also gets nominated at Gala MIMI 2008 and is named 2nd Best Local album by newspaper VOIR.
After a year's composing and exploring, the band release in August 2010 «La bête de l'homme», a more introspective 11-track album with richer sound textures. The heavy and intense rock by O Linea is still there but is topped by more uncluttered minimalist pieces. An journey to the heart of the true bête de l'homme.
