Since its infancy in 2007, the Rakija quintet has gradually forged a distinct identity in its current position where clarinet, trumpet, accordion, tuba and drums distill music of varying colours, with accents and inflections of Balkan brass bands. These five musicians weave a fragile bridge between two worlds where improvisation and writing meet, between waltzes and sounds of Bulgarian weddings. And even if they sometimes have fun getting lost between the Bosphorus and the "bal à papa", the public always knows where to find them again...
