Saoulaterre is the pseudonym of Boris Domalain, a musician whose imaginary world is halfway between Parisian basement (he loves going down to the heart of the catacombs, which makes him go into raptures - hence the name of his project) and the underground techno parties.
This very prolific producer has released many records on various small labels, including his own, Cavage. The use of the sampler is at the core of his creative process, which leads him to recycle French songs, easy-listening or folk curiosities. He also draws humorously on the incredible media dustbin that television has become. He makes very dense and weird tracks, which are built on hip-hop, techno or electro bases and the beats never hesitate to transgress binary conventions.
