Scorn

It is with great pleasure that Jarring Effects brings out « Stealth », the thirteenth solo album of Mick Harris alias Scorn, former drummer of Napalm Death, founding father of the dub-industrial trend and close colleagues of renowned artists, such as John Zorn or Bill Laswell for instance. First with his partner Nic Bullen until 1995, then solo, Scorn accidentally paved the way for an urban dub, very rampant, with an unstoppable groove and a singular production. Next to this main project, Harris the hyperactive, goes setting up many collaborations (Painkiller with John Zorn and Bill Laswell, the ambient Lull, The Silent Watcher, Quoit...) and composes, remixes and appears on stage at a tremendous pace. Since his last opus « plan 9 », released in 2002, our man became much rarer, and comes back after five years of quasi absence as far as discography is concerned. With eight long tracks, his new album is a concentrate of dubstep and urban or psychedelic atmospheres, treated with a huge and resolutely modern sound. A real cage of sound that captures the listener to take him to singular dub territories.
