The debut solo effort from Madcaps vocalist Frederic Pellerin is a thrilling history lesson of the blues, driven by a contagious, raw energy that fails to cease at any point in the record. Boasting that the album was recorded live in the studio with no overdubs or tinkering to correct, the album relies upon this rather simple premise to propel itself forward. Pellerin delivers three stand-up original tracks alongside impeccably chosen covers of Keb Mo, Robert Johnson, Tom Waits and Neil Young, all sounding as though they were delivered with his life on the line. A very memorable listen.
