Thomas Savy won first prize for classical clarinet at the 1993 Paris CNR and the first prize for improvisation in the 1997 Paris CNSM Jazz Category. This multi-instrumentalist is a regular player with the Paris big bands: Lumière Cugny Laurent, Tentet Stan Laferrière, Vintage Orchestra, François Laudet Big Band, and the Institute of Advanced Harmony by Steve Potter. Highly appreciated as a sideman, he has performed on albums by Juliette Greco, Sandrine Kiberlain and Alain Souchon. He finds time to co-direct a quartet with the English saxophonist Amy Gamlen, and to lead his own quintet whose first CD Archipelago was published in 2006 (CHOC Jazzman "disque d’émoi" Jazz Magazine and fff Télérama).
