"Repartir à zéro" (to start all over again). The former members of Bästard that is to say Eric Aldéa, Franck Laurino (who is also the drummer of the fantastic duo Spade & Archer), François Cuilleron and also Ivan Chiossone (who is from now on inseparable from Eric Aldéa) have probably thought about that by setting up this band. And this new start is quite cheerful.
Even if one can still find influences from Bästard, it seems that Zëro is more musical and less noisy. By giving up this noisy culture for more lightness, Zëro gets away with acoustic flights that sometimes remind this other project common to his members : Narcophony.
Zëro seems to be the missing link, the connection between the inventive post rock of Bästard and the elusive melodies of Narcophony. Resolutely rock, one can find some covers of Devo, Père Ubu and Brian Eno. You really must not miss the live!
