Abstract sensations was created in 2008 by Patrick Atkinson to initially release the debut album of Technicolor hobo (in which he is also singer & guitarist) entitled ‘Anthems for the lost’. Cdbaby (usa) handle the digital distribution and abstract sensations deal with the record shops and promotion.
But the main ambition of the label is also to promote and release artists in the Marseille region. Atmospheric, melodic, deep, provoking and outside of any main stream are what the label is looking for. It is not so much a style of music but an approach and reason to make music that interests abstract sensations.
With Marseille having been nominated european cultural capital 2013, the label is hoping to be financed by the local government to show the world how musically rich this city is.
