Airflex Labs is a Lyon (France) based label, focused on forward thinking, bass driven electronic music. Co-run by Dj Perkid, Opti and Led Piperz, this imprint aims at promoting a wide range of uplifting soundscapes and heavy breaks as vinyl and digital releases.
With a decade of action in the electronic & dub french underground under his belt, Led Piperz found his very own sound, made out of this unbelievably rich human and musical background. While still running people wild on European stages with leading Live Dub band High Tone as a VJ, he's been refining his musical skills and sensitivity, thus defining one of the most personal, gritty and forward-thinking bass music production in France.
DJ Perkid has grown with Reggae, Dub and Techno sound systems as a scene. His rich and cutting-edge musical tastes and vinyl collection led him to locally promote the best of independant electronic Rave, Techno or Dubstep production. His Dj Sets take the crowd to a journey in the history of electronic dancefloor music, and his extended culture of today's and tomorrow's electronic music is one of the keys to Airflex Labs artistic direction.
Opti is an hyperactive digital media creator and music promoter. For the past five years, he's been working with the leading french indie label Jarring Effects as a digital director, creating dozens of artworks, website or musical videos, but also pushed his sharp and minimalistic aesthetics on stage as a VJ or on DVD as a video director with people like High Tone, EZ3kiel or Boxcutter. He's also involved in cutting edge generative art collective Premium Consortium as a coder and hardware consultant. The free download Jarring Effects compilation project JFX Bits he initiated just reached the third edition, each one reaching at least 60.000 downloads and counting, receiving support from the likes of Mary Anne Hobbs or Rob Booth, promoting this new kind of open-minded electronic culture Airflex Labs was born of.
The Airflex Labs crew is made of involved and passionate people. The management team as well as supporters and partners are open minded and focused on building a massive wall of sound, one stone at a time.
