For four years FABRIK reflects and experiments the scenic space with the new technologies. A fascinating work questioning the shape as well as the sense: anticipating what will be our environment, our tomorrow’s everyday life, trying to find poetry to go out of the device, questioning the necessity of this one, to pass from the special effect to the supernatural...
With Fabrik, those two dabblers with heterogeneous cultures have created a laboratory of electronic music; of course, it goes beyond the simple demonstration of a sound and technological unit, to introduce into their work an emotional and narrative dimension. Collecting, confronting, using all the palette of techniques and sorts of scenic expressions, Fabrik suggests, through a musical story, a new exploration of the set, its echo, the possibility of voicing raw material, the interactivity and stage setting of the electronic unit, the intervention of new technologies as narrative vectors.
Within this laboratory: meetings, collaborations have taken place with musicians, stage designers, directors, electricians, etc., but also with sound designers, architects, Web designers, and particularly researchers. Indeed, research laboratories on the high and new technologies, by the intervention of the E.P.F.L (Federal Ecole Polytechnique of Lausanne) and of the H.E.S (High Specialized School) of Fribourg, find in these projects an application of their most innovative techniques, as well as a new shape of visibility.
Since May, 2009 they have create FABRIK RéSO, a workspace (construction, rehearsals, administration) in Lyon - 115 avenue Lacassagne.
